Drink infusions

Botanicals in cold water are a summer delight. Rosemary is one of my favourites, but you don't want to leave it steeping until the water turns yellow. Then the flavour gets a bit pungent. Overnight is the best for a mild and refreshing drink the next day. You can even leave the sprig in your water vessel and just keep topping up the water.
Lemon is a nice fruit that goes well on its own or with a herb like basil or mint. Or if you don't mind the flavour that gets into everything, cucumber slices (or length-wise cuts) are a good shout as well.
We quite like peaches, because you can get the taste of peach without the sweetness. I've heard berries are good for the same reason, but berries don't tend to last long enough in our household for us to test it. (nom!)
We infuse our coffee too, but with spices instead of herbs and fruit. Try caraway or cardamom or cinnamon or some other combination. If you're adventurous enough to try cayenne, use no more than the slightest pinch otherwise shit starts to get real.
